When Halewood Health Centre needed a selection of new modern bespoke reception desks for the new NHS project, Birley Manufacturing was selected as first choice, by the main contractor Galliford Try, because of their expertise and experience in this area. These units were to be for the various reception areas around the centre and needed to be contemporary, secure and value for money.
The light coloured timber and glass units were manufactured in Birley’s Sheffield factory with, in some cases, removable supporting posts for the security shutters.
Working from initial architect supplied designs, Birley adapted the design to produce manufacturing drawings. They engineered the initial design for the most cost effective unit possible and then delivered and installed them on site to the installation schedule of the main contractor.
The £65K order was manufactured, delivered and installed in summer 2008 and have proved to be a durable and effective solution as well as an attractive addition to the centre.
