The latest technological innovation for London Underground has been the commissioning of a new unit which will mechanise much of the currently manual inspections made to track and tunnel infrastructure.
Working with Serco we have helped to internally refurb this 4 car unit to their specification including all new panel work, a galley, toilet units, lockers and draft screens.
Because of the unique nature of this project individual templating of some areas was required which could then be drawn up and the new panels designed to ensure they fit accurately. These are then fabricated before being transported to the depot for fitment.
This high profile machine will revolutionise the way that London Underground manages its assets, making it faster, safer and more cost effective and we are proud to have played our part in making London's travellers safer in time for the 2012 Olypmics.
