Birley Manufacturing appointed for Morrison's refurbishment

Design and manufacturing specialist Birley Manufacturing has been given 'more reasons' to celebrate after being selected by supermarket giant Morrison's to undertake refurbishment work on a number of its cafes.

The Sheffield-based company will transform five former Safeway cafes in Airdrie, Bude, Caerphilly Cambuslang and Edinburgh.

Work will begin on the Cambuslang site in October, with all five cafes due to be complete before Christmas. Birley's involvement also has the potential to be increased to a further 95 cafes in 2009.

Commented Steve English, managing director, Birley Manufacturing: "As a specialist in the retail sector and having a wealth of experience with high profile supermarkets, we will be drawing on our skills and look forward to starting work." Birley will manufacture a new condiment counters, clearing stations, tray trolley's and tray collection points as well as new screens and support posts. It will also remove and replace the existing panels to the servery counter.
