Birley Manufacturing supplied desking and ElectroStatic Discharge (ESD) compliant work stations as part of a new assembly area for TMD Technologies, a company which manufactures equipment for radar and communications technology.
TMD recently secured a $10 million contract to supply Low Noise Power Amplifiers for a defence application in the USA, and TMD called on Birley’s expertise to help transform an existing but unused part of the factory.
Birley supplied work benches and accessories with full ESD protection. Fume extraction and an innovative ‘traffic light’ system were incorporated, allowing supervisors to see at a glance where technical questions need answering or components need replenishing. The benches also feature bin rails for storage, shelves and dry wipe boards, as well as drawers for personal storage for the operators.
In addition to the work benches, Birley provided personnel lockers, storage racking and cupboards, wooden test benches and admin desks.

Our work has allowed TMD to fully utilise their existing space without compromising on the specification.”
